Didn't Zirkle play QB his soph and maybe JR seasons, but moved to TE his SR year?
Zirkle was good...and he was billed as such all the way through P-nut ad JV football. IMO he lived up to expectations. But I don't think he was overrated. Todd was a good guy and a good football player. But back then, compared to the guys that came before him and that he played with...I don't necesiarily think of him as a beast...nowdays tho, he'd really hurt somebody...lol
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

Witt was the QB in 94 for the playoffs I know.

Please don't bring up the '86 team. That loss is still painful to remember. Probably the only loss that still bothers me and I only played one year.
I've got to ask because I don't know anybody off that 86 team what the hell happened there. With the defense that team had they should have had an opportunity for the title.

I believe ut1 may have a film of a PV/RC game from the early 70s PVFAN. He some old film put on DVD that I even have one of. I would like to see the 72 game I believe it was that RC won.

I was just a punter, so I didn't really have a clue as to what the game plan was. I know I f'ed up a punt attempt that gave Garden decent field position instead of pinning them deep...which is what usually happened. I don't really know what to tell you. We all just decided to pick the wrong day to play subpar. I don't think we took them lightly, because we all knew what was at stake. Long ass bus ride on Sat. morning, crappy field, couple of close calls that would have established some continuity. Take your pick. Just one of those days.
Why was the game played at Garden?

If I'm not mistaken, it was before power points were used to determine home field. In 82 an undefeated(once tied) PV team played at Hurley as well in the playoffs.
